Parent Support Groups

To meet the varying needs of parents, caregivers, and extended family members, The Stepping Stones Early Intervention Program offers parent groups during the day.  This support group runs Tuesdays and Thursdays during the operation of the Stepping Stones Early Intervention Program.

The Arc of Essex County’s Parent Support Group runs a monthly meeting at The Arc of Essex County’s main office.

Both Parent Groups are led by a licensed clinical social worker who has over fifteen years of experience in the field of providing support to families who have a family member with Down syndrome.  Topics are generated from parents and can include: estate planning; education law, parent rights, speech therapy; sign language; resources; medical professionals, sensory integration and more.  Parents have the opportunity to develop support with other parents who share similar issues.

For interest in attending the daily weekly parents support group, please contact Judy Bellina at 973-535-1181 ext.1223.
